Chief Commercial Officer, HydePoint
An exciting opportunity is available in HydePoint as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). The position will be formally recruited to Kongsberg Renewables Technologies and seconded to HydePoint.
The CCO leads the sales and marketing activities and reports to the Chief Executive Officer. He/she works closely with the CEO and when applicable, the Sales & Marketing teams of owner and / or partner companies to ensure that the commercial strategy is aligned with the companys overall vision, its goals and its capabilities. The CCO is responsible for developing and managing the companys commercial budget and ensures that expenditures stay within the set brackets. He/she also collaborates with the CTO / Technical team to ensure that the companys products and services can be delivered in time, meet the needs of the market and remain competitive.
The candidate must be willing and flexible to travel to global locations at short notice as required by the needs of the business.
Key responsibilities
You will be responsible for marketing, sales and business development. You will together with the CEO sets targets and KPIs for the commercial activities and ensures that the targets are met or exceeded.
Furthermore, you will be accountable for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations that can help drive revenue growth and increase market share.
You will:
- Monitor and document industry trends and competitive activity, share this information with others within the company and use it to adjust the commercial strategy accordingly.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders, and maintain customer and enquiry records.
- Hold responsibility for the Public Affairs activities with regional, national and international stakeholders and agencies.
- Be responsible for running the New Business Development process within the company.
- Be responsible for developing, submitting, and managing quotations, technically and commercially, involving all stakeholders (engineering, purchasing, operations, commercial) from prospect to contract for all category of projects.
- Follow up on enquiries and successfully negotiate contracts directly with customers.
- Support and engage in product development activities including offering support to engineering and input to business case where required.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in commercial management roles with an international scope. Preferably including marketing, sales and business development in a B2B, technology driven scale-up company or a high-growth environment.
- Solid experience from the offshore wind domain. Knowledge on the hydrogen industry is preferable.
Skills & competencies
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, but with a hands-on approach and a preference for pragmatic action.
- Highly energetic and ambitious professional.
- Excellent salesperson. Outgoing, eager to interact with people, approachable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, relationship builder, but also capable of driving negotiations forward and closing the deal.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
