We need to move away from fossil fuels, and Hydro Havrand – Hydro’s renewable hydrogen company – aims to be an early mover in the hydrogen industry by helping industries succeed with their energy transition and emissions cuts. Hydrogen is only as clean as the methods used to produce it, and our hydrogen is based on hydro, solar and wind power.
As we position ourselves to develop, build, own, and operate green hydrogen production plants and fuel switch solutions, we are now looking for an experienced and hands-on professional to lead the preparations for and start-up of our operations.

Responsibilities
You will have complete ownership of the establishment and execution of our operation and maintenance strategy and readiness, from projects to operation, ensuring integration with our business strategy.
Key tasks will include:
- Prepare for safe and efficient operations and energy efficiency from day one of operations
- Provide operational input towards investment projects, represent the receiving assets (Hydro Havrand) in projects and take over responsibility of operation after start-up of production
- Develop an Asset Operating Model (AOM) aligned with operational and maintenance strategies
Qualifications
No prior exposure to hydrogen is required, but we believe you should have around 10 years’ experience from operations in process industries, including knowledge of concepts for optimized and predictive maintenance and collaboration in cross-functional teams, which would allow you to build this function from scratch.
You typically achieveresults with a structured approach to deliveries, from early project to the operational phase. You successfully identify and leverage on both internal and external resources, demonstrating leadership and instilling confidence with peers and key stakeholders.
A university degree is preferable, but extensive relevant experience may compensate for formal education.

We believe that you thrive through collaboration with individuals at all levels and that you have great interest in business drivers and how they impact operations.
You communicate well, both verbally and written, and are comfortable with English as your working language. Norwegian is an advantage.

The position reports to the Operating Director (COO) of Hydro Havrand. You will join a hard-working and fun-loving team, triggered by doing their best in a high-paced and evolving working environment.
